Iridex VariLite™ Laser

in Fargo, North Dakota

Although skincare treatments can be effective options, some lesions and pigmentation require heftier methods. Laser technologies are some of the best ways to address concerns that don’t respond to other methods. Among some of our best laser technologies is the Iridex VariLite™ diode laser system.

What is the Iridex VariLite Laser?

This laser system is one of the best options for lesions and pigmentation because of its advanced technology. It uses dual wavelength energy to address many different skin concerns by targeting pigment with a customized setting for your unique goals and areas. With a package of treatments, this system can effectively reduce the appearance of your concerns with limited downtime and discomfort.

Recently was in for mole check/removal and they were able to get me in for an appointment for reasonable time compared to waiting 7 months for Sanford to get me in. They did a fantastic job explaining everything. I would highly recommend them to family and friends. Looking forward to trying other services they provide.

How Does the Iridex VariLite Laser Work?

Diode lasers work by generating light energy within the visible and infrared light spectrums. These beams are specifically tailored to penetrate the skin and be absorbed by pigment in the skin or blood vessels, generating heat that destroys the appropriate tissues. Once these cells are damaged, they are absorbed by the body as waste and expelled through the metabolic system. What sets the Iridex VariLite Laser apart is that it can be safely used on darker skin tones.

What Can the Iridex VariLite Laser Treat?

The Iridex VariLite Laser system is an excellent treatment option for visible pigmentation and lesions. Some of these treatments include:

  • Leg veins
  • Facial veins
  • Acneic lesions
  • Brown spots
  • Pigmentation
  • Vascular lesions

Iridex VariLite Laser Maintenance

After treatment, you can expect some redness, swelling, and mild discomfort. These usually subside within the first few days, but it’s important to avoid sun exposure, since this can cause damage and hyperpigmentation. Most patients benefit from a package of three to five of these treatments performed a few weeks apart, although Dr. Ness will discuss the right treatment package for you during a consultation.

Lesions and pigmentation can be some of the most difficult skin concerns to treat with conventional means. Laser technology offers excellent results, however, so Dr. Ness can plan the right treatment package for your unique concerns.
