What is Xeomin?

You most likely use your face for many ways of communicating, using different movements and expressions. Although this is a natural process, it can cause wrinkles and folds to form over a lifetime. Injectables like Xeomin and Botox® can effectively block these movement-causing signals from the brain to the muscles. Xeomin is FDA-approved for certain medical conditions, as well as moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, although it’s often used off-label in other areas.

How does Xeomin work?

Xeomin is a neuromodulator, meaning it can prevent the brain’s movement signals from reaching the muscle when injected into it. Xeomin is made of purified botulinum toxin Type A and contains no additional additives or preservatives, meaning it’s the only neuromodulator that doesn’t require refrigeration. This also means that many patients don’t have a negative reaction to Xeomin like they otherwise would to Botox. This injectable option can be administered by our expert injectors in one simple treatment session at our office. Depending on your unique treatment goals, this process can take as little as fifteen minutes. We can supply a topical numbing cream before the injection process if you believe you’ll be uncomfortable.

Recently was in for mole check/removal and they were able to get me in for an appointment for reasonable time compared to waiting 7 months for Sanford to get me in. They did a fantastic job explaining everything. I would highly recommend them to family and friends. Looking forward to trying other services they provide.

Xeomin Maintenance

You can expect some swelling and redness at the injection site afterward, but this subsides quickly. Xeomin can take between five and ten days to produce the best results, so it’s important to avoid rubbing or massaging the treatment area for a few days afterward injection. This can cause the product to spread to unwanted areas. Generally, Xeomin lasts for a few weeks longer than Botox, meaning you can see results for between three to four months. To make the best out of your cosmetic treatments, we recommend you receive Xeomin along with dermal fillers and skin care treatments like chemical peels or microneedling to further reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Dr. Ness can also recommend the best in our in-house line of products to supplement your at-home care.
