Dermal fillers, sometimes called “soft tissue fillers,” are a widely-popular option for restoring a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance. With a simple injection session, dermal fillers can provide greater fullness to areas like the face, lips, shallow contours, and facial creases and wrinkles. There are many different types of dermal fillers available at Fargo Center for Dermatology, and Dr. Ness can help you decide which options are best for you.
Dermal fillers are injectable treatments that are made with many different substances that can be safely injected under the skin. This process aims to enhance your facial profile by reducing the appearance of unwanted wrinkles (also referred to as “filling them in”), restoring volume, and rejuvenating the skin. Dermal fillers are minimally-invasive treatments that provide a less-expensive alternative to plastic surgery and can achieve immediate results, all with minimal downtime or recovery.
For the first time in a year my skin has cleared up. I thought it was never going to get better but thanks to Dr Ness it is 100% better. Thank you dr. Ness and for being such a concerned doctor.
Many signs of aging are caused by a loss of volume under the skin. This is because, as you age, your skin becomes less efficient at restoring its collagen matrix that provides support and suppleness. Dermal fillers can recreate the appearance of volume, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and adding projection to areas like the lips or cheeks.
During your dermal filler treatment, we can supply a topical anesthetic to numb the area so that you’re comfortable (some dermal fillers even include an anesthetic in the gel, easing the injection process). Injections typically take thirty minutes or less, depending on the treatment area. If you have scars and deep lines, you may require multiple injections in order to achieve your desired outcome (i.e., nasolabial folds, marionette lines). For deeper injections, a topical anesthetic will be needed.
At Fargo Center for Dermatology, we offer the following dermal fillers:
There are many different types of dermal fillers available, and each comes with a different timeframe for your results— although, dermal fillers in general can last between 6 and 24 months, depending on the treatment location and type of filler. After your results begin to fade, you can opt for re-treatment. During a consultation, Dr. Ness can recommend the right products and treatments to maintain your results, which can include professional skincare or laser treatments to rejuvenate the skin. You may also benefit from additional injectable options to reduce wrinkles.
