What Is the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus?

The Candela GentleMax Pro Plus is an advanced dual-wavelength laser system that combines a 755nm Alexandrite laser and a 1064nm Nd:YAG laser in one device. The Nd:YAG 1064nm wavelength is important for safely treating darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick Skin Types IV–VI) and deeper vascular concerns, while still delivering state-of-the-art results for lighter skin types.

The Plus platform offers more power, faster treatment, larger spot sizes (up to 26mm), and enhanced patient comfort. Candela’s built-in Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) delivers a cryogen spray before each laser pulse to protect the skin surface and minimize discomfort, making treatments more comfortable with little to no downtime.

Vascular Lesions & Redness

The laser is highly effective for treating vascular concerns, including spider veins, facial veins, diffuse redness, and rosacea-related flushing. Laser energy targets unwanted blood vessels, causing them to safely collapse and fade as the body naturally reabsorbs them.

Laser Hair Removal

Candela GentleMax Pro Plus is considered a gold standard for laser hair removal, particularly for patients with darker skin tones. The 1064nm wavelength allows us to safely target hair follicles while minimizing the risk of pigmentation changes. Common treatment areas include the face, legs, arms, underarms, back, chest, and bikini area.

Pigmented Spots

This advanced laser system can improve the appearance of brown spots, sun damage, and uneven pigmentation by selectively targeting pigment in the skin, helping create a more even complexion over a series of treatments.

Skin Rejuvenation

The GentleMax Pro Plus can also be used for non-ablative skin rejuvenation, helping to improve skin texture, fine lines, and overall tone. Treatments stimulate collagen production, supporting smoother-looking skin with minimal recovery time.

Onychomycosis (Nail Fungus)

Using the 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength, the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus can also be used to treat onychomycosis (fungal nail infections). The laser energy penetrates the nail plate to target and inhibit fungal growth without damaging surrounding tissue, offering a non-invasive option for improving the appearance of affected nails over time.
