Wrinkles

As we age, our skin begins to show the physical effects of time and environmental damage. The skin loses elasticity, collagen, and our muscles constantly contract, causing wrinkles to appear on our faces. Most people see wrinkles as a sign of aging, but it can also be the result of signs of diet and lifestyle choices such as smoking. These lines cause us to look older than we are and can affect your self-confidence, making it a frustrating part of life.

What are Wrinkles?

How are Wrinkles Treated?

There are many treatments available for wrinkles. For this reason, it’s important to know the root cause of your wrinkles and what treatments are available. Wrinkles can be delayed with preventative at-home treatments such as creams, lotions, and sunscreen. Once your skin has deep or set-in wrinkles (typically caused by the contraction of underlying muscles) it can be harder to treat with just products. This means you can benefit from skin rejuvenation treatments such as:

One of our best treatment options for wrinkles is the Cynosure Icon Aesthetic Laser Platform. This treatment is one of the most popular and effective options that we offer at our practice. By scheduling an appointment with the team at Fargo Center for Dermatology, Dr. Ness will be able to help you choose the type of treatment that’s best for your skin type and aesthetic concerns.

Wrinkle Maintenance

After treatment using lasers, you may experience some minor swelling, redness, and minor discomfort. Recovery time with laser treatment for wrinkles usually takes between a few days to two weeks. It’s important to discuss your options for lotions, creams, and moisturizers with Dr. Ness to help your skin stay rejuvenated.
