Nikki is a board-certified physician assistant and has her license from the North Dakota Board of Medical Practice. Nikki earned her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of North Dakota: School of Medicine and Health Sciences. The National Commission certifies Nikki with her Certification of Physician Assistants.
Nikki provides comprehensive dermatological care for men and women of all ages as well as children. Her interests are in medical, procedural and cosmetic dermatology.
Why I love working in dermatology:
I enjoy the opportunity to treat patients of all ages from infancy to geriatrics.
I love the combination of medical, cosmetic and surgical dermatology.
I enjoy providing education to patients regarding skin care and the importance of daily sunscreen for the prevention of skin cancer.
To me, the field of dermatology is very rewarding! I love the ability to treat patients with dermatologic concerns and find it very rewarding to impact our patients’ lives positively.
My favorite procedures:
I love to perform Botox® and filler procedures. My favorite procedure to receive is SkinPen® microneedling with Ariessence. The textural improvements and skin rejuvenation make this my cosmetic procedure must!

I must have my daily HA Plumping Peptide for hydration and the Sheer Spray Sunscreen for protection.

OK, so I normally do not post anything on a public forum, so here goes. If I could give Fargo Center For Dermatology more stars I would. The level of care I received from Dr. Niki Welk, the nurses, and assistants, has certainly raised the bar. From the time you walk in the door and you're greeted by a smiling office assistant who immediately checks you in, and then directs you to coffee or water around the corner to barely sitting down and you're directed back to the exam room. Dr. Niki, as I call her, found a few areas of concern that were overlooked by a Dermatologist at my former place of residence. Thank you for being so very thorough. Over the past few years I've realized this is not the kind of thing to pass off like it's no big deal. I'm thankful for everyone's professionalism, concern, and kindness.
I had an appointment with Dr Welk and Dawn and they were very helpful. They listened to my concerns with care and were patient with me when I had follow up questions. They gave me resources so I could do further research and made me feel heard/understood. I would recommend them for any of your dermatology needs as they were very professional.
