The Ultimate Guide to Laser Treatments

From acne scars to fine lines, lasers are a popular treatment option to address a variety of cosmetic concerns. If you want to rejuvenate your skin with non-surgical treatment, Fargo Center for Dermatology offers the following lasers to help you regain confidence and achieve beautiful, glowing skin.

Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a great way to reduce the amount of hair that you would otherwise be constantly shaving, tweezing, or waxing. Using the Lumenis Laser Platform, a high-intensity light laser that targets individual hair follicles, you can remove hair from almost any part of the body. After a series of six or more treatments, you can say goodbye to your razor and enjoy smooth skin.

Pigmentation Correction

Uneven skin tone from sun damage is common, but treatable. Hyperpigmentation can take the form of brown or red spots, sun spots, and broken capillaries/vessels. Lasers for pigmentation are also used to treat vascular conditions such as rosacea. Laser treatment will target the overly pigmentated area of the skin and improve the appearance of these spots or redness in the skin.

Scar Treatment

Lasers are a great option for scar treatment and can be used to treat acne scars, surgical scars, and raised/hypertrophic scars. Scars are caused by a buildup of fibrous tissue that develop throughout the healing process. Lasers can help to improve the appearance of scars and diminish symptoms associated with the scars.

Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are a common cosmetic concern, but laser treatment is an effective solution. Lasers stimulate collagen production and promote resurfacing of the skin to diminish and smooth the appearance of stretch marks.

Wrinkles and Rejuvenation

Dr. Ness and the aesthetic team at Fargo Center for Dermatology utilize a variety of lasers to address anti-aging concerns, including wrinkles. Lasers help to stimulate collagen production to minimize the appearance of fine lines and improve skin texture and tone.

Leg Veins

Leg veins, also called spider veins, can present as thin, but prominent veins that are red, purple, or blue in color. The most popular treatment for leg veins is sclerotherapy, which involves localized injections into targeted spider veins to minimize their appearance. If an injection treatment is not for you, we also offer Cutera CoolGlide 1064 laser, which uses heat generated by light energy to reduce the appearance of unwanted vessels.

Xtrac® Excimer Laser

The Xtrac® Excimer Laser uses ultraviolet light to lessen inflammation which causes chronic skin conditions like psoriasis, vitiligo, eczema, and atopic dermatitis. Narrowband UVB rays target the affected areas of the skin, leaving the surrounding, healthy skin undisturbed.

CO2 Laser

CO2 Laser is an effective anti-aging treatment used to improve the appearance of wrinkles, irregular skin tone, rough texture, and skin laxity. Although a series of treatments is recommended, you can expect dramatic enhancements after just one treatment.
